Low Stock Report

/low-stock  Lists products that will run out within a number of days at the current sales rate, with units left and units sold.

Add to Sidekick

Add opens your Shopify admin with the skill prefilled; review it there and click Add. If nothing appears, use Copy and follow the steps below.

Personalize before you add

Values come from your store profile when set. Leave a field blank to keep the placeholder and fill it in Sidekick.

The skill

Suggested shortcut: /low-stock
Show me what will run out within [DAYS] days.

## Steps
1. Pull inventory by variant across all locations and units sold per variant for the last 30 days.
2. Compute daily sales rate per variant (units last 30 days divided by 30) and days of cover (units on hand divided by the rate). Ignore variants with zero sales in 30 days.
3. List variants with days of cover under [DAYS], ranked by revenue in the last 30 days, with: product, variant, units on hand, units sold in 30 days, days of cover, and whether inventory tracking is on.
4. Separately list variants already at zero that sold in the last 30 days.

## Output
Two tables: running low, and already out. Then one line with the total 30-day revenue of the running-low group.

Do not adjust inventory or create purchase orders in this skill. If no variants qualify, say so.
How to add it to Sidekick
  1. Click Add to Sidekick above. Your Shopify admin opens with the skill ready to review. Click Add. Done.
  2. If the button does nothing in your store: click Copy skill, open Sidekick in your admin, type /, choose Create new skill, name the shortcut low-stock, paste the text as the instructions, and save.
  3. To run it, type /low-stock in Sidekick. Sidekick keeps up to 25 skills; manage yours from the skills menu.

What you get

A reorder warning based on how fast things actually sell, not a flat threshold, ranked by the money at stake.

When to use it

Weekly, and daily in the run-up to peak season. Feed the results into /restock-list.

Variations

  • “Use the last 14 days as the sales rate” during a promotion.
  • “Only the [collection] collection” for a supplier-specific check.

Limits

Variants with inventory tracking off show no counts. Seasonal items with a spike in the last 30 days will look more urgent than they are.

Status: Written for Sidekick but not yet run on a live store. Results may need a second prompt. Time saved: about 20 min / week.
